Mac Welch is a writer, director, producer, actor, and filmmaker whose work spans theatre, film, and television. Based in Dallas, he currently serves as Artistic Producer of Teatro Dallas and has collaborated with some of North Texas’ leading arts organizations, including Dallas Theater Center, Second Thought Theatre, Undermain Theatre, Theatre Three, Arts Mission Oak Cliff, Fair Assembly, and Echo Theatre. His work has also taken him beyond Texas, including collaborations with WP Theater in New York and the historic Estates Theatre in Prague.

As a writer, Welch works across stage and screen, with a particular interest in class, identity, ambition, and the ways people search for connection within systems larger than themselves. His screenplay Pâro received Best Screenplay at the Paris International Film Festival, and his play Late Stage has recently received developmental workshops and readings. His series work includes an original sitcom currently in pre-production.

Welch is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, Co-Founder of the Watering Hole Collective, a company member of Fair Assembly, and is represented by Engage Artists Agency.
